Note: In this art section there is a mix of stuff I am proud of, and a mix of stuff I’m not a big fan of any more but I learned a lot from those projects. I’ll give a ton of information on the art, and a lot of reflection on them. I love hearing about processes and seeing people’s work and hearing all the details, it’s a big part of who I am! This website is kind of like a library for myself to look back on and remind myself how much I’ve grown, which is a satisfying feeling. If that’s not the kind of stuff you are interested in, then I’d recommend going to the Portfolio section, to see the best of what I have to offer! With that said, please enjoy!
Seeing movement you’ve created is such a satisfying experience.
Animations, video editing, and filming are all super fun to do, seeing movement you’ve created is such a satisfying experience.
Below, I showcase various video art I have worked on, and I will describe the process for making those pieces.
Video game related animations will be in the Game Art section!
“Nuclear Solution”
In the George Mason University course AVT 280 Introduction to New Media Art, with Professor Durkin, I was tasked with making an educational video into something surreal. I used Dominion Energy’s nuclear energy informational video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZnHgFKYHs8) and edited it to make it humorous and strange. I used Adobe Premiere to edit this together.
Warning: contains some dark humor.
“The Life Cycle of Leaves”
In the GMU course AVT 280 Introduction to New Media Art, with Professor Durkin, I was tasked with making an educational video where all the visual assets were created by ourselves. I decided to try some frame-by-frame animation in Adobe Photoshop, and combine that with some digital art also made in Photoshop into a video made in Adobe Premiere. I also made use of some Adobe After Effects to make some movements more fluid and interesting. All the material that is not made by me in this video is sourced at the end.
“Drag Me”
In the GMU course AVT 280 Introduction to New Media Art, with Professor Durkin, I was tasked with making an animated self-portrait video. I made two versions of this, the one on the left is the version with many Adobe After Effects applied to it on top of images that represent me, and the one on the right is just the frame-by-frame animation alone. The main idea behind this art is to show how when I bad or burnt out, technology is able to pull me out of that funk, I took that idea and make it literal.
